2013 Governor's Award in the Arts - Government Category

On October 29, 2013, the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea was recognized with one of the state’s highest awards for achievement in the arts – the 2013 Governor’s Award in the Arts Government Award.

This annual award, presented in the Capitol Rotunda and coordinated by the Kentucky Arts Council, recognizes the work of an individual or agency that demonstrates significant support for the arts through government action.

During the ceremonies, then Executive Director, Victoria Faoro, spoke of the Center's work: "We are proud to seamlessly present under one roof exceptional art, art education, and traveler services, creating a year-round marketplace that benefits Kentucky artisan businesses."

A four-minute video about the Center's founding and activity developed by the Kentucky Arts Council and shown during the ceremonies is available on-line. This prestigious award was accepted on behalf of "all of the Kentucky Artisan Center's partners and artisans."
