Gleason, Jennifer — Sunflower Sundries

Mt. Olivet, KY

jams, mustards
In business since 1992, Sunflower Sundries is a small farm, family run business in North East Kentucky which makes herbal soaps, jams, and mustards. The soap is made using the cold batch method that dates back to the 1700’s. In this method the soap is not boiled, so the oils used keep their nutritive quality. The results are a creamy bar that foams and bubbles abundantly and does not leave residue on the skin. Only food grade olive and coconut oils, tallow and other natural ingredients are used to make the soap. It is scented with 100% pure essential oil from plants. The color is derived from natural sources such as chlorophyll or beta-carotene. The soap is air cured and hand wrapped in wax paper and packaging designed by Jennifer. She makes the bars large and if well drained they will last twice as long as commercial bars.

Jennifer’s Sunflower Sundries can also be found at Log House Gallery, Berea, KY; Stones Throw, Georgetown, KY; BeBe’s Artisan Market, Paducah, KY; Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, Harrodsburg, KY; Kentucky Haus, Newport, KY; and at Good Foods Co-Op, Lexington, KY.
