Linda Fugate-Blumer began taking pictures in 1979 when she bought her first 35-mm camera. Born and raised in Perry County in the hills of Eastern Kentucky, she gained an appreciation for the land and the people and a love for the outdoors.
Linda later attended the Ohio Institute of Photography in Dayton, Ohio and became a full-time professional portrait photographer. She soon realized that she found the walls of a studio too confining and began traveling around Eastern Kentucky photographing the vast beauty of the area. At present, Linda’s specialty is a unique portrayal of wildflowers, waterfalls, and landscapes for which she has received many awards and other recognition. Linda uses her photography to present the beauty of Kentucky.
Linda is a juried member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, the Sheltowee Artisans in Somerset, Kentucky, and the Kentucky Professional Photographers Association.
Linda’s work can be found at Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill and also at the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea
