Melissa Oesch is an eco-friendly Kentucky artist and the owner/designer of ReImagined by Luna, which offers handcrafted, one-of-a-kind journals, sketchbooks, and other unique creations from up-cycled materials.
Melissa grew up on a wooded farm in Eastern KY, playing among the trees, devouring books, and filling up journals. Melissa began bookbinding in 2005 and deeply appreciates the meditative quality it offers.
Initially she started crafting books because she found journaling to be transformative in her own life. She enjoys the challenge of reimagining her materials by incorporating discarded and recycled textiles.
Mostly self-taught, Melissa experiments with different techniques and combinations. Her inspiration comes from nature, ancient spiritual traditions, and anything whimsical, which she intertwines with ideas of function. Because she creates with repurposed materials, each piece if unique.
Melissa is a member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen.
Works by this artisan can be found at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
