Cynthia is originally from Westchester County, NY, just north of New York City. She completed an associate degree in liberal arts from Westchester Community College and then worked for 15 years as a freelance graphic designer in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Longing to rediscover the sense of discovery and wonder she had experienced as a child wandering in woods near her apartment building, in 1998 she left New York State and moved to a 27-acre farm in Estill County, Kentucky.
In 2009 she completed a BA from Eastern Kentucky University in studio art with concentrations in ceramics and metal-smithing. That same year she launched Tea Horse Studio, creating and selling functional pottery and jewelry.
Cynthia currently works in clay and mixed media. She creates sculptures that she exhibits nationally and functional work that she sells regionally.
Cynthia’s work can be found at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
