Facility & Services
The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea’s facilities provides a range of services
to both individuals and groups.
Our Building
Designed by Myers Jolly Architects, Lexington, KY, this 25,000 sq. ft.
facility features Kentucky limestone exteriors with slate and copper roofs.
The beautiful Kentucky limestone walls continue on the interior, and are
complemented by wood decking overhead and tiled floors.
Though the facility appears to be a series of small buildings when viewed from
the interstate, it in fact is one continuous building, facilitating visitors’
travel through its various areas. Interior furnishings have been designed by
Architectural Group International, a Covington, KY firm. Many of these
furnishings feature Kentucky cherry and are Kentucky-made.
Five windows in the Gallery & Boutique areas feature decorative glass panels
designed by Kenneth F. vonRoenn, Jr. and fabricated by Architectural Glass
Art, Inc., located in Glassworks, a glass center open to the public in
downtown Louisville, KY.
The building and grounds feature other works by Kentucky artists, as well as
artisan products for sale. In all, the facility features over 4,000 sq. ft. of
shopping and exhibit space filled with Kentucky crafts, paintings, music,
publications, and specialty foods.
The Center’s public areas are all on the ground level and are wheelchair
accessible. The facility also features a passenger drop-off area in front of
the entry pavilion. Benches and other seating are provided both on the grounds
and inside the facility.
