recycled glass and metal jewelry

Jennifer holds a BA degree in English and Political Science from University of Kentucky and a MA degree in Communications from Georgia State University, but she has always studied art “on the side.”

In 1996, she took a class from Hopi Medicine woman, Rosalyn Bruyere, who introduced her to the ancient art of bead weaving.  Working on her own, Jennifer developed her bead weaving skills and then learned to fuse glass with Lexington artist, Laura Hallock.  Most recently she studied Precious Metal Clay with nationally acclaimed Vermont, artist, Celie Fago.

Jennifer makes and fuses her own dichroic glass and creates silver ginkgo leaves and a variety of beads with Precious Metal Clay, a clay mixture containing metal which reduces to metal when fired in a kiln.  Using her bead weaving skills, she combines these elements with Czechoslovakian or Japanese glass seed beads.

Jennifer is a member of Kentucky Crafted: The Market and the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen

Jennifer’s work can be found at the Heritage Art Center in Lexington, KY and the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea.
