Amanda Bridges holds a BFA from Western Kentucky University with an emphasis on drawing and printmaking. She is current working with clay, using a variety of techniques.
Amanda says the objects she creates “often incorporate highly embellished surfaces. Most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind and represent my interest in line, color, pattern and detail.” She is inspired by nature, textiles, and iconography.
Amanda uses a variety of techniques including sgraffito, stamping and printing onto the clay surface. She fires in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres and often adds decorative elements after the final glaze fire using lusters and hand screened decals.
Amanda’s work can be found at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY, and at various festivals.
