Jerry Hollon began working with wood as a child, carving wooden guns and toys. He continued through his high school years, slowly adding equipment to his woodshop.
Hollon received his BS degree from Berea College and went on to earn a degree in wood technology from Eastern Kentucky University. After teaching industrial arts for six years, he went on to complete a master’s degree in school counseling and administration.
Hollan worked days as a school administrator and ran his own woodworking business in the evenings and on weekends. Now retired from the field of education, he has begun a new woodworking business creating kitchen wares and furniture from local hardwoods.
Works by Jerry Hollon can be found at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
