Paul and Kaye Brown began making soaps and lotions in an effort to ensure the products they used with their babies didn’t contain synthetic or chemically derived materials. Paul had taken up beekeeping a number of years before, for the honey he needed for brewing mead (honey wine), and he had been using his bees’ wax to make hand and lip balm.
The Browns now have a few small plots of land in Louisville where they keep gardens, apiaries, and an orchard. They make what they can and if they can’t make something, try to buy it locally.
Earth Brown products are 100% natural and biodegradable. They are made with high quality, sustainable botanical ingredients used in their natural state. The products are also boxed with 100% recycled fibers.
Earthy Browns Natural Products can be found in the Kentucky Museum of Art & Craft, The Frazier Military History Museum, Whole Foods, and Lucky’s Market, Louisville, KY, and at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
