Anna Marie Pavlik was born in Pennsylvania, but grew up in Minnesota, where she lived until relocating to Austin, TX and then later to Frankfort, KY where she now resides.
Anna Marie holds a BA in Fine Art, Drafting Certification, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering. She worked as a Product Development Engineer for 3M and holds one patent. Wanting to become more involved with art, she joined Flatbed Press, a print publishing studio in Austin, TX where she participated in various projects and workshops, eventually setting up her own studio. She focuses on etchings (an intaglio process) and stratographs (a monoprint technique).
Anna Marie speaks of her “growing concern for the survival of natural areas and our need to understand the relationship of people to their environment.” She says of her art, “In my work I visually explore concepts developed from my observations of natural sites and the study of science publications and maps. It is my hope that these works will direct viewers’ attention to the irreplaceable value, sublime beauty, and mystery found within our natural environment.”
Anna Marie’s work can be found at Ann Tower Gallery, Lexington, KY; Art Emporium, Lawrenceburg, KY; Completely Kentucky, Frankfort, KY; Kentucky Museum of Art & Craft, Louisville, KY; and the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
