Walter Roycraft grew up in suburban New Jersey. After studying at the New York Institute of Photography, Walter worked for studios in New York and in Miami, Florida, In 1983 he opened his own business in Nicholasville, KY, where he has enjoyed a successful career as a professional architectural and landscape photographer.
Since 2007 Walter has turned his eye to the landscape and the barns that are a part of Kentucky landscapes. He has been influenced by many photographers, particularly their use of lighting to create grandeur, tonality, and texture.
Walter is a juried member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen and has been featured in various exhibits and publications.
