Robin Frassas grew up in Estill County and worked on an Arabian horse farm as a young teen. After High School she moved to Florida and worked with a professional Arabian horse trainer showing the Florida Sunshine circuit. Robin was responsible for 28 horses. Being around all those beautiful horses constantly had her sketching and painting on a regular basis. She soon found that between horse training and painting horse portraits she could afford the expense of having her own personal mounts.
Robin has put a lot of hours into becoming a self taught artist. She now has her own farm with her husband, Tom. Together they raise Arabian, Saddle bred and KY Mountain horses on their farm, “Domain Farm.”
Although Robin can paint other animals and wildlife, she says horses have always been the “center of gravity” in my life. If not painting horses she’s usually training, riding or giving riding lessons with them. She and her husband travel often with the BCLP Bluegrass band he is in, so she always tries to take a sketch pad or canvas with her.
Robin Frassas’s work can be found at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea KY.
