Linda Horvay’s paintings are inspired by daily life and personal reflections. She paints in gouache (opaque watercolor), which when dry, takes on a soft matte finish and is conducive to poetic statements. Attracted to art at an early age, she visited museums at home and abroad wherever she lived or visited, particularly in Germany where she spent four years.
Before moving to Lexington in 1986, Linda studied painting at the University of Texas at ‘San Antonio while teaching English there. Her work has been exhibited throughout Kentucky and she has been the recipient of several awards and grants.
Linda’s work can also be found at Miller Fine Art and Framing, Lexington; Fayette Gallery, Lexington, KY.
