Mel Miller was born and raised in Louisville, KY. Throughout her life she has had the drive to create. She first became involved with drawing, and then oil printing. For many years she worked as a floral designer. In 2006 she discovered jewelry making and design and feels she has finally found her true passion.
Self-taught as a jewelry artist, Mel has learned her craft through books and much trial and error. She began with simple stringing projects and has progressed to more intricate metal work. Mel is always learning new techniques and adding the ones she loves to her jewelry repertoire. Mel currently employs fabrication, stamping, etching, wire wrapping, wire work, and adding gemstones.
Mel participates in art fairs and is a juried member of the Louisville Artisan’s Guild.
Mel Miller’s work can be found at Les Filles Boutique, Louisville, KY; Discoveries, Louisville, KY; Block Party Handmade, Louisville, KY; and the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
