Joe Larson learned stained glass while living in California. When he purchased land in rural Kentucky, Joe’s plan was to put a few stained glass windows into his new home. Working with glass artist and partner Kathy Zajac, Joe created stained glass windows throughout the house. When neighbors saw their windows, they began receiving requests for custom-made and designed windows and in 1981 a small business was born - Home Studio Art Glass.
Joe has designed and built windows for homes, churches and businesses all across the country. He also began making a number of individual one-of-a-kind works that he has been exhibiting and selling at retail shows across the country.
When Joe’s wife, Kathy Zajac began to explore other aspects ofglass art and learned fusing and slumping, she soon got Joe hooked on it as well. He has studied glass casting with Fred Di Frenzi of Louisville as well as glass painting with Dan Fenton.
Joe is a juried member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen and he has shown and sold his glass work at the St. James Art Fair in Louisville for 24 years.
Works by Joe Larson can be found at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
