Virgie V. Williams has been sewing for many years, making clothing for herself and her daughter for over 25 years, and making doll dresses and capes for 11.5 inch dolls since the 1970s. She has also pieced quilts since a teenager, taught by her mother.
Virgie has taught quilting classes for the Contented Heart Quilt Guild and also taught for three years at the January Quilt Seminar held at Jabez, KY.
Since retiring, Virgie has been about to pursue her sewing daily. The aprons she makes are from a very old pattern. She constructs the aprons from vintage of reproduction fabrics whenever possible, and finished them with matching bias binding. She enjoys using a wide range of prints, often whimsical.
Works by Virgie can be found at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
