Randy Westbrook, a native of Richmond, Kentucky, is an adjunct professor of musicology at Middle Tennessee State University. Randy earned his BA degree from Murray State University. He earned his MM in musicology from the University of Memphis, where he is currently a Ph.D. candidate. While at the University of Memphis, Randy taught Music Appreciation, The history of Rock and Roll, as served as a guest lecturer in classes such as Twentieth-Century Music and Memphis Music.
Randy is a member of the American Musicological Society and the Center for Black Music research.
Randy’s band, Full Circle, is a soul group from Memphis. Other band members include Nadra Bingham (saxophone), Angelique (vocals), Robert Allen Parker (guitar), Chiemi Fujio (bass), and Kim Trammell (drums). Full Circle recently released its debut CD “Light, Sound, and Motion,” which is described as a unique combination of contemporary jazz with a touch of Southern blues.
