children's books: ONE TINY TWIG; BLUEGRASS BREEZE
Dan Rhema holds a degree in geology and has spend much time as a building contractor. He taught building techniques in developing countries and lived in Africa and South America with his wife, a social worker and their three children. While working as an international development worker in Mexico in the late 1980s, he contracted three strains of dengue. He eventually survived, but his near death experience left him with gaping holes in his memory and a loss of identity. But visual images began to flow out of his dream and "a creative compulsion" took over his left. Dan became an artist, filmmaker, and writer and now lives in historic Old Louisville, KY
His art has been exhibited nationally and he is the author of several children's books.
