As native Louisianans from Lake Charles, LA, Bob and Sallie Blount began making barbeque in their backyard over 30 years ago. As family members and friends requested their barbeque sauce, they began thinking about making it to sell.
When he moved to Kentucky for a job 19 years ago, Bob continued his backyard cookouts and making his Louisiana-style barbeque sauce. When he retired in 2006, he and Sallie decided to make their special barbeque sauce commercially and Le Bayou Gourmet Foods was born.
Le Bayou Barbeque sauce can be mixed with cream cheese and sour cream to make a vegetable dipping sauce and is a delicious addition to meatloaf. When heated, it becomes a great accompaniment to shrimp, fish and fried potatoes.
Le Bayou Barbeque Sauce is available at the Top Drawer Gallery, Berea, KY; Acres of Land Winery, Richmond, KY; Chrisman Mills Vineyard, Lexington, KY; Critchfield’s Meat Market, Lexington, KY; the Kentucky Horse Park Gift Shop, Garden Gate Fruit & Produce Market, Bardstown, KY, as well as other locations
