In 2009 Keith Crigger and his wife moved to Gallatin County and acquired land previously owned by his late father. The land had never really been farmed and is mostly woodland. Their dream was to build a house and begin raising bees, a passion of his father’s. They also wanted to establish a large garden and build a facility to showcase beekeeping and sustainable living.
The Criggers’ house has been built and they are raising bees, selling their honey products and also selling their garden produce at local farmers’ markets. Their goal is to provide fresh, healthy, locally gown food products to their community.
Crigger Farm was honored to receive a “Best in Show” award for their honey products at the 2013 Incredible Food Show in Lexington, KY. They look forward to continuing to expand their business, and to someday adding a facility on site to showcase beekeeping and sustainable living.
